A highlight was the buzzer-beater long shot scored by Fletcher (Room 7) in the final seconds. Players of the day were Brodie (Room 7) for accurate shooting and Thomas (Room 7) for his defensive play.

Sacred Heart Ruamoko (Year 5/6 Div 1) vs Nga Mokopuna Taiohi Teina lost 30-58. Player of the day was Jiezl (Room 7) for her attacking play. Thank you to Jiezl and Harper of Room 7 for helping out.

NETBALL:

NETBALL PRIZEGIVING 2024
After a fantastic season, netball prize giving for all teams is Sunday, 15th September, 11:30am - 1:30pm at school.
Please let your coach/manager know this week if your player can make it for catering purposes. Thank you!

Sacred Heart Angels (Year 5/6 C) drew 12-12 to St Frances De Sales Sparks. Everyone showed grit, courage and some fast thinking and never gave up! Player of the day was Bella (Room 7) for great work in centre! Special mention to Kaatia (Room 5) for her great effort in goal and mid court.

Sacred Heart Ferns (Year 5/6 E) played against Miramar Central and unfortunately lost 4-6. The team did a fantastic job getting that close as the last time the Ferns played them they lost 15-1! Player of the day was Micah (Room 5) for fantastic performance in defence.
Sacred Heart Ace (Year 7/8 B) - Hard luck Team Ace. 27-12 to SWIS. Congratulations to our player of the day Lupe (Room 9) for her tenacity and dedication to her team coming back on court after injury and shutting down the goal circle. One more game to go for our Year 7/8s! We are very proud of the amazing progress you’ve made this season. Let’s finish strong! ?
Sacred Heart Shooting Stars (Year 7/8 C) played SWIS Kea and lost 10-17. Although the final score wasn’t in our favour, the Stars had a great second half, finding their rhythm through mid court and into goal. The girls put in an awesome team effort! We had two player of the day this week - Layana (Room 10) for outstanding defence, marking her partner and challenging every rebound, and Harper-Rose (Room 10) for giving her team someone to pass to as she helped drive the ball down court. A couple of special mentions this week to Sacha (Room 9) for some awesome intercepts and Izzy (Room 10) for great attacking, driving play through centre court.
