News from the Sacred Heart Cathedral School Board

Welcome to term 3!

Change in Board Members:

At the end of June, Andrew Reid resigned from the board. I would like to thank him for his contribution to the board and the school community over the past almost two years.

At our last meeting on 31 July, we welcomed David Aldred to fill the casual vacancy as a parent representative. David has children at SHCS in year 6 and year 8. We are very grateful that David put his name forward to be on the board and his generosity in sharing his skills with the board and school.

Board Meeting:

At our board meeting last week, we discussed:

• The upcoming ERO review of SHCS.

• The upcoming changes to the curriculum and how we can best support our Principal and teachers to implement them.

• Our updated triennial review programme 2025-2027.

• Feedback from the ASC survey.

• The ASC assessment recently conducted by Te Kāhui Kāhu (an independent government business unit which provides social services accreditation).

At our next meeting, we will focus on finance and property, junior achievement and pastoral care.
