Weekly Update From Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
As a school we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the Homecoming with the opening of the Cathedral. Each event was stunning and deeply spiritual. A highlight on the feast of the Sacred Heart was Father Patrick taking us all into the Cathedral and explaining the renovation to us all. Thank you to everyone who supported and represented our school throughout the weekend. Thank you to Suzanne our presiding member - Charles, Jack, Noah, and Dishan and all whānau and staff who came on Sunday.

Congratulations Madeleine (Room 7) - who delivered the match ball on a very cold wintery day for the Hurricanes. I think Madeleine, you touching the ball was good luck for the Hurricanes. Well done, Madeleine, for receiving this fabulous spot prize for our Readathon. I know you will be cheering for the Hurricanes this Saturday in the semi final.

We are happy to celebrate today, the Philippine Independence Day! The Philippines commemorates the declaration of Philippine independence from Spain in 1898. Since 1978, it has been the country's National Day.
It was lovely to see Room 6 learning about plotting direction using the sun today.
Have a great week and please reach out if you have any concerns.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
