ATHLETICS:

Congratulations to Pierre (Room 10) who competed during the Athletics season. He’s had an incredible season competing in the 11 year old boys grade. His results are as follows:

He is the North Island Champion for:

• Gold medal: 100m, 200m, long jump.

He is the Wellington Champion for:

• Gold medal: 100m, 200m, long jump, medley relay, and he was also part of the 4x100m (11 y/o boys) relay team who broke a Wellington record that stood for 37 years. 
• Bronze medal: Discus and Shot put. 

During the end of season prize giving ceremony for Tītahi Bay Junior Athletics Club (this is who he represents when he’s competing), Pierre was awarded: 

• Tītahi Bay Athletic Club’s Best Track Athlete
• The Tahu Family Cup for Best Long Jumper
• The Fasavalu Cup for Best 100-200m Sprinter
• The Rex Redden cup - for the Most Outstanding All Round Club Athlete

Well done Pierre and of all the children who have worked so hard all season. A massive shout out to all the coaches and parents for their dedication and unwavering support.

Last Sunday night at the Regent Theatre in Palmerston North, Siena's Troupe from Elite Dance Company gained a national Performing Arts Competitions Association of New Zealand (PACANZ) nomination for their troupe dance "My Sharona". This means they are off to the national competition in October this year. This is a great achievement for this group of dancers who have worked so hard and come together over such a short period of time. Everyone couldn't be more proud. Well done Siena!
