On Monday, we had a beautiful liturgy to celebrate the significance of Waitangi Day.

We thank you for Rangi and Papa (sky and earth),

For whenua and moana (land and sea),

For maunga and mania (mountain and plain),

For roto and awa (lakes and rivers),

For ngahere and manu (forest and birds).

We give thanks for the aroha that New Zealanders have for one another, and for the progress made in healing the things that divide us.

We are all called to be treaty people.

Lord have mercy.

We are your people called to know, face and restore injustices of the past.

Christ have mercy.

You draw us all together in true justice and love to build a nation that welcomes and respects all people.
