Sports News

BASKETBALL:

It's the finals week for our Sacred Heart Ninjas and Raptors team. Thank you to the students who played their best effort on each week's game during this Term 3. We also thank our parents/caregivers who support their child/ren to play basketball. For the Year 7/8 basketball team, their finals game will be played tonight.

Sacred Heart Ninjas (Year 3/4) vs Seatoun Magic lost 22-26. Player of the day was Archie. Big ups to the children. They kept on trying right to the end and came from behind to draw level with 2 mins to go. What a great season the kids have had, to get into the Division One Finals twice is a huge achievement and they should be super proud of themselves.

Sacred Heart Raptors (Year 5/6) vs Clyde Quay Pukeko lost 0-20.

Sacred Heart Eagles (Year 7/8) vs St Francis De Sales Holy Hot Shotz won 44-28.

Sacred Heart Falcons (Year 7/8) vs St Ants All Stars won by default.

NETBALL:

Special thanks to all of our parents who have supported our tamariki to have an amazing season of netball this year. Your commitment has enabled all players to get fitter, develop improved netball skills, and to play in a team situation where you experience highs and lows of sport. Thank you for all the encouragement that you gave our players so they can develop the wonderful sport of netball.

Sacred Heart Stars (Year 5/6) vs Seatoun School Stars won 14-1.

Sacred Heart Emeralds (Year7/8) vs Brooklyn School Anacondas lost 15-21.

Sacred Heart Saints (Year 7/8) vs Kahurangi School Whero lost 6-18.

SWIMMING:

The Primary Sport Wellington's Interzone Swimming Championship is a remarkable event that brings together young swimmers from different zones to celebrate their passion for swimming. This friendly competition allows primary students to demonstrate their skills, build friendships, and inspire one another.
Four girls from Sacred Heart participated in last Thursday's event. Sophia (Year 4, Room 5), Jiezl (Year 5, Year 6), Amelia (Year 6, Room 6), and Alyssa (Year 7, Room 10). The girls enjoyed being there to share their love for swimming, celebrate their achievements, and perhaps look forward to another round next year! Big shout out to Therese and John Grevatt who regularly communicated with the parents and promptly sent updates/information from the event organizers; as well as the parents of these young girls who have been supportive and cheering them on!
