Yesterday, we celebrated Aotearoa New Zealand’s National Patronal Feast, our celebration of the Assumption of Mary Mother of God. The Solemnity of the Assumption calls us to appreciate more deeply the dignity of the human body and its link to our spirituality.

Congratulations to Reiss (Room 7) and Alex (Room 9), who have taken another step on their Catholic journey having received their Confirmation Sacrament last Wednesday evening at Te Wairua Tapu Parish.

We do have a lot of sickness here at school. Please make sure your child stays at home if they are sick and let Cathy or Frances know.

You will have seen that the Government has announced the removal of the mandatory COVID isolation rule, which took effect on 15th August 2023.

Public health officials have advised risk from COVID-19 is now considered low compared to other stages of the pandemic and it is safe to remove the final requirements.

Just a few reminders about after-school arrangements that focus on keeping our children safe.

Please note, school finishes at 2.40 pm - those students who catch a train or bus walk down to the traffic lights at the bottom of Molesworth/Lambton Quay and then cross over.

Children who have not been picked up by 2.40pm, sit on the grass steps by Room 2 and wait quietly. They must wait until a family member picks them up and cannot leave the school grounds.

After-school care is available every day until 5.30pm and is very reasonably priced.

Please note, staff have meetings or are planning and synthesizing assessments and are not on duty in the playground after school.

So please, please make sure that you have arrangements for your child after school where they are supervised and safe.
