A special Prayer for us during Winter-
On this winter’s day
We are thankful for the small things that lift our spirits-
The warmth of another’s smile or embrace,
The glimpse of the sun through the clouds,
Freshly brewed coffee,
Newly baked bread,
Hot soup.
On this winter’s day
We are thankful for glimmers of hope;
For acts of kindness that tell us
We are not alone
In our sorrow,
In our suffering,
In our uncertainty.
On this winter’s day
We are thankful for
All that stirs us into life;
For funny stories and laughter,
For music that sets us dancing,
For words and wisdom that inspire us.
On this winter’s day
We are warmed
By the beauty of this place in which we live,
By the company of family and friends,
By our passion for justice and peace.
May the thoughts of our hearts,
the words of our mouth,
the work of our hands,
and all that we do with our lives
speak of grace and truth
as we seek to live in the way of Christ. Amen.
Thank you for all your ongoing support - it is always appreciated.
Piki kau ake te whakāro pai, hauhake tōnu iho:
When a good thought springs up, it is harvested, a good idea should be used immediately.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School
Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Cole Grevatt Visits Our School
On Monday, Therese brought Cole Grevatt into school for a visit. Room 7 children were very excited to meet Mr. Grevatt's baby for the first time.

Room 5 Gymnastics at Wellington Girls' College
Room 5 visited Wellington Girls' College on Tuesday for a gymnastics session with the Year 10 PE class. We loved learning new moves and tricks from our big buddies.
Special thanks to Ann Stephen and John Grevatt who trained and prepared a group of students to participate in the Central Zone Cross Country. Lots of grit and determination was shown throughout the day.

See video clip below of the start of the Central Zone Year 5 girls' Cross Country race.
Both of the Sacred Heart Summer Soccer teams, Sacred Heart Strikers and the Sacred Heart Tigers came top in their division. Well done everyone!
SACRED HEART STRIKERS
Sophie (Room 10) has lost her named jersey. Please check your child's jersey and if found, please return to Room 10. Thank you.
