Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Our Mid Year progress reports have gone out to families. If you have any concerns about the learning progress your child is making, please contact your child's teacher to discuss. Syndicate leaders are always on hand to support you as well.
Please ensure you make an appoinment through our online platform for week 2 of next term, https://www.schoolinterviews.co.nz/ click on 'Make a booking' then enter the event code: 3b9kk. This is a great opportunity for you to share your perspective of your child's learning and hear a teachers perspective.
A special welcome to Anya, who started at our school today in Room 1. We know you will have a wonderful time while you are at Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
Matariki is a time to learn about your whanau, and a time to remember those who have passed on from this world to the next. Whakapapa is an important part of Matariki celebrations.

What a term it has been. All credit to our students, staff and whanau. Yes, we are all part of the team of 5 million, all credit has to go to the team here at Sacred Heart Cathedral School. Thank you for all the support you have given our school. Have a well earned rest with your families. Recharge and we look forward to reconnecting with you all in term 3.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School
Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Congratuluations to the following children who made their First Reconciliation at St Mary of the Angels on Sunday, 28 June 2020: Chanelle Rm 5, Leon Rm 5, Malchus Rm 5, Daniel J Rm 5, Edward Rm 7, Georgia Rm 5, Sadie Rm 5 and Bella V Rm 6.
Open Afternoon to Celebrate Matariki
Thank you to all families who joined us. It may have been cold outside but inside our classrooms there were wonderful displays of learning.

Congratulations to our Summer Soccer Teams
Last Thursday on a cold bleak day, we ran our school cross country the inner city urban way.
Congratulations to all our students who competed. I saw alot of grit and determination particularly up the gradual incline of Hill Street and Guidford Terrace.

Thank you once again to all students and families who dressed up their feet to promote the idea that it is very important to be active. We were lucky to have a gap in the weather, so at 9.00am we were able to hold our annual Fancy Feet Parade yesterday. This parade was organised and run by our house captains with a little help from other senior students to provide some rocking music. Once again, we were amazed, surprised and maybe a little stunned by some of the creativity and imagination shown when it comes to dressing up feet!
Check out Ethan's (Rm 5) fancy feet and the rest of the students!

Upcoming Events Organised by Parents & Friends Group
