Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Kia Ora families,
We have had another action packed week of learning.
Thank you to all the parent support we have had this week - it is so much appreciated.
Our revamped beach day was a great success.
The Juniors went to the Botanical Gardens and had a lot of fun on the play equipment.
The Middles went to the Waterfront and then had water play back at school.
The Seniors thoroughly enjoyed Brooklyn Park with the flying fox and a great game of non stop cricket.
Our students were pretty amazing with a last minute change of details. Special thanks to our staff who were also very creative in organising alternative activities.

I look forward to seeing you at Wheels' Night this Friday, starting at 5pm. Bring your own takeaways and come along and meet other school families.
Congratulations to
Jane Regan and Sue Cranney who have gained Leadership endorsement in Catholic Character and Religious Education.
Ann Stephen has been endorsed at the Classroom level in Catholic Character and Religious Education.
Please don't hesitate to contact your child’s classroom teacher if you have any concerns around their learning, or myself if you have any questions, feedback or concerns regarding our school.
We are loving this weather - sunhats can be purchased from the office for $15.00
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School
Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
The theme for Lent 2020 is Renewed by the Spirit. Pope Francis challenges us all to be transformed and renewed by the Spirit so that we can follow the path of love. When we do this we become God’s ambassadors on Earth.
Today the entire school attended an Ash Wednesday liturgy, officiated by Father David. The liturgy leaders co-ordinated and led this. They did an amazing job! Well done.
Wheels Night for Juniors and Middles on 28th February
Looking forward to seeing you all this Friday evening from 5pm. Bring your own take-away.
We had the most stunning day to welcome new families and students to the Sacred Heart Cathedral School family.
Special thanks to Amanda and Jess who co ordinated afternoon tea for our new school families.
Special thanks to our students who spoke on behalf of our school. We are super proud of you all.
