A Reflection from Father James
Joyful, loving God
I bring to you this brand new day and all that will fill it.
I bring to you the people I will meet and the work that I do.
I bring to you my home and my town
my friends and the people I do not know.
I bring to you the life you have given me and this day encircling me.
Bless all within and around me
so wonderfully made and so very good.
Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting our market day. The goods sent along to school were simply outstanding. Special thanks to our staff who co-ordinated the market day and to our senior students who created innovative games and activities. All money raised today (close to $1,000.00) will go towards the Cathedral Parish and Parents and Friends.

The Year 8s, staff and families had a beautiful shared meal last week to honour our Year 8s who will leave Sacred Heart Cathedral School in a few weeks. Special thanks to families for supporting this event and to Deirdre, Linda and Jo who set up for the evening. Thanks also to Pam and Frances who decorated the venue and made the Archdiocese Cafe look stunning. We also had a photo booth which was a lot of fun for everybody. Thanks to Tina and Lynil who supplied the photobooth to us. Several families have asked for the contact of the photobooth. Please see below for the contact.

‘The Whanganui River settlement of Jerusalem is home to a long established Māori community and the Catholic order of the Sisters of Compassion (since 1892). To make this documentary, Miriam Smith and Christopher Pryor spent a year in Jerusalem, following the lives and interactions of the nuns and the Ngāti Hau. North & South called their observations of a world of co-existing contrasts — Māori and Pākehā, young and old, secular and religious — “a cinematic treat”.
