Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
What a wonderful Wellbeing Day we had today. So much fun! Thank you to our staff and our wonderful whānau volunteers who helped us out as well.

Thank you Room 10, for painting our benches - they look fantastic!

It is that time of year when staff are putting together summative reports. It is wonderful to see the growth of students throughout 2023 because we have the long break over summer and we want to build on learning. It is a good idea to keep your child reading, writing, and consolidating basic facts knowledge. Whitcoulls has great activity books available and I noticed at KMart that there are popular titles of books at really good prices. Always good to fill the Christmas stocking with items that enhance learning and to minimise the Summer slump.
Please reach out if you need any uniform - we have a lot of second hand available. Please help yourself.
Have a wonderful week and thank you for all the support you give us.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt

Financial Literacy Learning with KPMG
Room 6 were fortunate to have a financial literacy session with KPMG on Tuesday. Marale Du Plessis and her team came to work with Year 5 and 6 students to teach them about income, expenses, tax, savings and even scams. It was a super fun and interesting session for us all. They will be sharing the same session in Room 7 in a couple of weeks.

On Tuesday, 28th November, the Junior Syndicate will be having an end of year trip to Shortland Park, Island Bay. Please click and fill in the form for more details. We would appreciate it if we could receive your reply on or before Friday, 17th November.

Please put Thursday (16th of November) in your calendar and join the staff for morning tea so we can say thank you for the special way you support us here at school.

The results are in from Central Zone Athletics on 31 October! Everyone tried their best and were incredibly supportive of one another. On top of that, we achieved some impressive results. The relays were very exciting! We are looking forward to another opportunity at Interzone Athletics on Tuesday, 21st November.
The top 3 athletes in each event were given information about Interzone Athletics earlier in the week. Please return permission slips to Mr G or Ms G ASAP.
