Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Happy Niue Language Week. This year’s theme for Faahi Tapu he Vagahau Niue – Niue Language Week is - Fakatūleva e Vagahau Niue mo e Tau Aga Fakamotu ma e Tau Atuhau, which means - Sustain Niue Language and Culture for Future Generations.
I hope you have all managed to get a little time to yourself over the past couple of weeks. The weather certainly was a mixed bag.
Welcome to Yashnoor who joined Room 7 on Monday, 17th October. You are going to love your time at Sacred Heart Cathedral School and will make lifelong friends.
The shade canopy was constructed over the holiday break. it took a little longer due to the severe windy weather conditions in the first week. We are super grateful for such an amazing structure. We are going to be able to meet as a school and will also be able to have physical education despite the weather. The funding of this project was a formal agreement between APIS ( Association of Proprietors of Integrated Schools) and the Ministry of Education (MoE) for the provision of the Essential Property Maintenance Package (EPMP).
This beautiful proverb urges us all to stand firm in our beliefs and values.
Have a great week.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School
School Gospel Values for Next 5 Weeks is Faithfulness - Piripono
Our School Gospel Value for the next 5 weeks is Faithfulness - Piripono
Self-belief: doing what you say you will what you do, loyalty, sticking by your friends, accepting others, acknowledging God, doing the right thing whether people are there to see it or not.
Years 1 – 5: See God in everyday things, talk with others about what your faith means to you, be a reliable person, trusting others, to be faithful to God.
Years 6 – 8: Be a person that people can have faith in, support your friends, be proud of the way you live your life, and have belief that even when you struggle. God is always on your side, see God in the beauty of nature, show your faith by becoming involved in public prayer and worship, recognise your own abilities.
Emergency Contact Details and Permission Form
At the beginning of the year, we shifted our Emergency & Permission Form for your child to a google form and have asked you to complete the form for each of your child/children. This will make it simpler for us to refer to and for you to update your details in subsequent years. If you have not completed this form for your child, please click the link below. We appreciate the time that you have taken to complete this form for us. And for the parents/caregivers who have already filled in the form, thank you so much.

Feast of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz - First Filipino Saint
Today, we celebrated Saint Lorenzo Ruiz's canonisation. Our Filipino students dressed up in their Filipino attire to represent their culture.
Thank you very much to Keiffer and Sammy (Rm 9) for sharing to the rest of the school about the life of Saint Lorenzo Ruiz.
The students have all brought home a Well-being challenge. Once they complete each challenge, it can be placed in our Wellbeing Kete, on the office counter, ready for a lucky draw in early December.
