Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Sue Cranney
"Kua hinga te tōtara i te wao nui ā Tane."
This week we are holding Bernadette Murfitt very close in our hearts and prayers. Today, she farewelled her father Noel at St Peter and Paul's Parish in Lower Hutt. Bernadette's love and care for her father have inspired many in the past few months, and it has been a privilege to witness and support their journey. Our school whānau was able to support her today as staff and students represented us all. Moe mai rā, e te rangatira!
A special mention to our Sacred Heart Cathedral School students for their attitude and behaviour over the past week. We have had staff absences and illness, but our wonderful students continue to amaze the staff with their focus and hard work. It has been amazing how settled and calm each classroom has been.
A warm welcome to Kristian Room 1, Sosaia Room 2 and Blandina Room 3, who started at our school on Monday. We hope that your time and journey at Sacred Heart Cathedral School is special for you all and that you make life-long friends amongst us.
Arohanui,
Sue Cranney
Acting Deputy Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School

The student council will be running a sausage sizzle tomorrow Thursday, 11th August. Sausages will cost $2.00 each. Please send along the correct amount of money in an envelope with your child's name, room number and the total number of sausages ordered written on the envelope. Money raised from this will go towards the Year 8 Yearbook.
Apologies for the short notice!
