Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome back to term 2. I hope you had a wonderful break with whanāu and enjoyed the stunning weather. There is wonderful energy about school and we are all looking forward to the term ahead.
A special welcome to Lexie (Rm 1), Mikee (Rm 5) and Tian (Rm 10). You are going to love your time at Sacred Heart Cathedral School and will make lifelong friends.
There was a lot of activity at school. Rooms 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 all have new carpet. The classrooms look absolutely stunning. Special thanks to our students who moved furniture and set up classrooms. It was a mammoth exercise and the end result made it all worth it.
During the holiday break and beautiful mural was painted outside Room 3. The children have loved admiring this beautiful piece of art. See article on the mural below.
We still have active COVID cases in our school and we will continue to wear masks indoors as an extra layer of protection.
For those families that are isolating we wish you all a speedy recovery.
Please take care.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal

Ice Blocks Fundraiser for Senior Syndicate Camp
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Starting tomorrow, 05 May until the end of Term 2, we will be selling mini lemonade ice blocks for $1.00 each to help raise funds for the 2022 School Camp for Years 7 and 8 students. Please have the correct amount of money to reduce the need for change.
Thank you.
For the Senior Syndicate, we will be posting it next week.
The first two weeks of Term 2 are our transition time for children to move into wearing the winter school uniform. During these two weeks, children can come to school either in full summer or full winter uniform. From the beginning of Week 3 (Monday), 16 May, all children will need to come to school in full winter uniform. Trousers are an option for both girls and boys as part of the winter uniform and can be purchased from NZ Uniforms, along with all other uniform items.
Please make sure your child is in the correct school uniform for our Winter term. This includes a green tie.
Please ensure your child has a school jersey. Please note hoodies are not a part of our school uniform. I have a lot of second hand uniform available including plain black winter jackets.
Our Seniors team - Top-Left to Right: Jeremiah Rm (10), Kaleb (Rm 8), Jorjia and Brianna (Rm10) who spoke with Kea Kids News about the recent occupation parliament.
