Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Mā wai rā e taurima
Te marae i waho nei
Mā te tika
Mā te pono
Me te aroha
An acknowledgment to the passing of esteemed Māori leader Moana Jackson who was buried in his homeland over the weekend.
To those families who are at home isolating or are recovering from COVID-19, please take special care of yourselves. We currently have 7 active cases of COVID 19 in our school community.
I wanted to acknowledge the milestone we hit recently, completing two full years of leading, teaching, and learning under the quick-fire demands made by the global pandemic. Learning has indeed been at the forefront. Learning about ourselves and learning about each other. Throughout these tough times, there are so many gems of goodness as we navigate our challenges. I am grateful to you all and the very special way you support staff at Sacred Heart Cathedral School.
Kia kaha, kia maia, kia manawanui! Kia tūpato.
Be strong, be brave, be steadfast.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal
Sacred Heart Cathedral School
Senior Syndicate Technology Classes Begin this Friday
The senior syndicate (Year 7 & 8) children will be attending technology classes at Karori West Normal School starting this Friday.
Children need to be at school on time as the bus leaves our school at 8.40am.
They need to be wearing proper school shoes (enclosed toe, so no sandals), long hair needs to be tied back.
Special thanks to our Liturgy leaders who have been looking after our local environment.
The Catholic social teaching principle of stewardship – kaitiakitanga – is about being responsible guardians. We are all kaitiaki - guardians of the earth. Exercising stewardship is caring for the gifts God has given us, including our beautiful environment.
Liturgy leaders you are making a real difference at our school.
