Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.

Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
At the moment, life is a constant balance between keep calm and carry on vs what’s life going to throw my way today? Parents, Staff and Children, you have had a tough job of keeping everything calm while we work our way through this pandemic - it is not an easy task. For the past two years, our great track record of dealing so well with COVID gave us a sense of satisfaction in keeping the virus away. Now, as we are in the thick of it, we have to get used to our new normal.
Our students are calm and so are our incredible staff. We have loved welcoming back students who have been learning while being in isolation. Staff have been making tweaks making sure the online platform is meeting needs. Thank you for all your support - engaging through zoom calls, submitting work or sharing experiences - thanks for supporting your tamariki in making this happen. If your child is sick or a household contact, then please use Seesaw for Years 1-4 or Google classroom for Years 5-8. If your child is not sick or not a household contact, then school is the best place for learning.
Lord, during this time of Lent help me to not be so complacent in my faith that I start to think that my own desires are what you want from me. May my familiarity with you be a deep relationship and not just a casual knowledge of you.

Pope Francis has Declared a Day of Prayer this Friday to End the War in Ukraine
Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
for an end to the war in Ukraine
First Luminous Mystery of the Rosary:
Ko te Mihiteria Hikohiko tuatahi:
I iriiria a Hēhu ki te Awa Horano e Hoane Pāpita
The Baptism of Jesus
In both Ukraine and Russia significantly more than 70 percent of the populations are baptised Christian. Too often war is waged between people who profess faith in Jesus Christ as God of peace. Let us pray this mystery of the Rosary that those who are baptised into our Christian faith may return to relationship with Jesus our Prince of Peace.
'Be Happy' - Free Mufti day on Friday (1 April)
