Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfill
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Welcome to Marco who started at our school on Monday and joins Room 10. Marco, we are delighted to have you at our school and you are going to make lifelong friends.
I think during these difficult times, it is sometimes the little things in life that bring joy. The children thoroughly enjoyed decorating their feet and making their feet look "super fancy" for our annual Fancy Feet Day event.
As Autumn approaches, here we are - focused on mitigating the impact of Omicron on students, staff and whānau. To those families who are sick with COVID or are isolating, I wish you all a very speedy recovery. We currently have 26 cases of Covid 19 in our school community.
If your child is well and is not a household contact that is isolating, it is expected that your child is at school for face-to-face learning.
Please note online learning is only for those students who are well and having to isolate due to being a household contact.
The Ministry of Education is giving each school RAT tests for staff and students. If your child is not feeling well, we will isolate them in our sick bay. Once a parent or caregiver comes to pick them up, we will be able to give you a RAT test to take home for your child.
I am in total awe of the Sacred Heart Cathedral Staff and the unique and special way they are designing learning programmes that engage our students. We are truly lucky to have such wonderful and amazing staff at our school.
I had the pleasure of being in Room 10 for the past week. It was such a privilege to see motivated learners in action and Ann delivering her classroom programme from her home, making excellent use of technology and videos. Being back in the classroom after the past three weeks we have had, was just what I needed.
