Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Please take the time to have a good read of our school newsletter. We are having to make tweaks to many planned events.
Welcome to Lillybelle who has started in (Rm 1). You will love your time at Sacred heart Cathedral School and will make lifelong friends.
Traffic light at a glance.
Once I have the information from the Ministry of Education as to all considerations, schools have to take into account. I will adjust our school alert planning.
May Christ inflame the hearts of all people
to break through the barriers which divide them,
to strengthen the bonds of mutual love,
to learn to understand one another,
and to pardon those who have done them wrong.
Through Christ's power and inspiration may all peoples welcome each other to their hearts as brothers and sisters,
And may the peace we long for ever flower and ever reign among us.
Amen.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt
Principal

Market Day - A Slight Change of Plan This Friday (29th October)
We have made a few slight changes to our Market Day for the Parish.
All children can wear mufti this Friday.
Senior students will organise games for us all to play.
We ask that each student makes a small donation that we can give to Father David and Debbie for The Cathedral Parish. The Parish are nearing the end of their building project and would appreciate a small donation towards completing their project.
Thanking you in advance.
School Disco 2021- Disco and Dance Party
Our disco will be slightly different to the normal way we do things. Our priority is always keeping safe as a school community.
This Thursday, 4th November - this will be a free mufti day and we will host the disco here at school, during school hours. Weather permitting, we will have it outside. We will send out a reminder next week.
Sacred Heart Strikers junior team played the Cheetahs and lost 3-0. Our player of the day was Joaquin (Rm1).

This year’s theme for Te vaiaho o te Gagana Tokelau– Tokelau Language Week is Tokelau! Tapui tau gagana ma tau aganuku, i te manaola ma te lautupuola which means Tokelau! Preserve your language and culture, to enhance spiritual and physical wellbeing.
Tokelau! Tapui tau gagana ma tau aganuku, i te manaola ma te lautupuola, is a powerful reminder about the importance of preserving Pacific languages and cultures.
Tapui refers to preparing the soil for plants to thrive and bear fruit. The term ‘tapui’ is used to emphasise the work we are called to do to maintain and promote Tokelau language and culture.
This year’s theme reflects the overarching 2021 Pacific Language Week theme of Well-being, by linking the importance of language to overall well-being.
Mini Lemonade Ice Blocks for Sale
Tomorrow and every Thursday during term 4, our student council will be selling mini lemonade ice blocks for $1.00 each to help raise funds for the 2022 School Camp for Years 7 & 8 students. Please have the correct amount of money to reduce the need for change. Thank you.
