On Monday Greg Foe gave an inspiring speech to the whole school at assembly. Greg has represented Samoa in rugby and is currently in the Wellington Lions. He told us about the history of his country and his career. He told us that no matter how small you are or no matter how big you are you are perfect the way you are. Talofa Greg Foe

We are looking for some more volunteers to help spread the load for our Sacred Heart Parish Sunday mass children’s liturgy at St Thomas Moore Church in Wilton. This is an enjoyable and rewarding role which requires you to be at mass around every 4 – 6 weeks to take the children through the week’s liturgy. Resources and guidance will be made available for anyone who is interested and I’m happy to be with you during your first 1 – 2 sessions. It’s fun! Any interested parents please contact Amanda Gregan on 027 9399 575 or amandagregan@hotmail.com

A comment from one of our out-going Board members, Joseph Mina:
“All parents only want the best for their children. We go to great lengths to try to ensure they are set up for a great future. Six years ago, Bill (the then Principal of
Sacred Heart Cathedral School) asked if I wanted to put my name forward as a candidate in the school Board of Trustees election. I saw this as “a chance to positively influence my daughter's education and get to know the school".
I was elected on to the Board of Trustees. My daughter is now in College and as I step down from the Board, I believe I'll be leaving the school with an excellent Principal and teaching staff, a strong financial position, a robust governance structure, an upgraded school building and premises, and a strong academic programme. I would encourage any parent interested in becoming a member of the Board of Trustees to give it a go! Thank you for all your support over the past 6 years.”
Mathletics Gold Certificate Award
Congratulations to Eva Rm 5, who has been awarded a Gold Certificate in Mathletics. Well done Eva.

"I dressed up as a character from 'Wacky Wednesday'. I had different socks on and different shoe on each foot. We made 'Cat in the Hat' in Rm 2, we coloured in the hat, the bow and his face and we glued it all together." Hazel Rm 2
"I dressed up as 'Thing 1'. I drew a picture of 'Green Eggs and Ham' and I made a glueing picture of 'Cat in the Hat'. After lunch I made Lorax - by gluing coloured card onto white card." Javi Rm 3.
