Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update From Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
The term is going so well for us all. We have a lot happening which is all very exciting.
We had a beautiful Liturgy to celebrate Saint Lorenzo the first Filipino saint. A big thank you to Frances and Julius who were instrumental in organising this event.

Lorenzo Ruiz was canonized at the Vatican in Rome on 18th October 1987. Saint Lorenzo Ruiz is the patron saint of Filipino youth, the Philippines, people working overseas, and altar servers. Lorenzo Ruiz's feast day falls on 28th September.
What a wonderful weekend we had on the sporting front with Team New Zealand, The White Ferns, Silver Ferns, Black Caps, Triathlon and the Wellington Lions. Just to name a few - as a small country we do punch above our weight.
We are so happy to have Mrs Baughen back at school after a fall she had here at school last term.
Mark the 19th November on your calendar for our Resilient kids workshop. You can join us via zoom or you can come into Room 6 and we can participate in this workshop. It starts at 4:00 PM and will be approximately 45 minutes.
Please sign up for the disco. So far, I will be dancing with 3 students.
Have a wonderful week and thank you for all the support you give our staff.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt

St Mary's College Need Homestay Hosts Term 1, 2025
We are keen to hear from families who would like to host students coming from Japan to study at St. Mary’s College. We need places for term 1, 2025. The girls are here to improve their English language skills and to experience life in New Zealand.
The host family needs to offer a warm comfortable room, lots of chat, and outings to showcase our beautiful city and surroundings. The fee paid to families is $350 per week. Payment is made fortnightly.
It can be a rewarding, educational and fun experience for all the family.
If you think your household would like to be a part of our school's international family, please get in touch with Philly Smyth, HomeStay Coordinator at 044735554 or philippa.smyth@
