Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update From Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
Thank you for all the support you give our school. It is so appreciated.
Special thanks to our amazing support staff who are the glue of our school. They all give so much of themselves for the good of our children. Thank you.
Frances, Cathy, Alison, Rachel, Robyn and Adele for the incredible mahi you do in classrooms and the support you provide our students.
We had a beautiful Mother's Day Liturgy on Friday to celebrate all of the amazing women associated with our school and community.

Read-a-thon - Well done to Lucas (Room 8) for putting time into reading during a weekend party and Simone (Room 3) during a library visit after her swim class.

The weather really is changing - please make sure that your child has their jersey and a nice warm jacket to wear when they are outside. The classrooms are really toastie and are well ventilated. The afternoon sun streams into quite a few of our classrooms.
We are grateful to the families that donated their child's out-of-date school uniforms. It does assist other families, and we are really appreciative.
This Friday is Pink Shirt Day. Students can wear any pink clothes to school. At Sacred Heart Cathedral School there is zero tolerance for any bullying. By wearing pink this Friday, we are giving a strong message that we will be upstanders and say NO to bullying. Together we will be kind, and inclusive and celebrate diversity to eliminate bullying.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt

We had a great day on Friday where all our middle and seniors participated and pushed themselves mentally and physically.
I am also very grateful to Ann and Anna and our amazing staff who prepared the students, organsied the event and provided so much encouragement and reassurance.

Room 1 made reading forts today. We made them so that we could read inside them to help with our reading minutes for the read-a thon.
Yesterday, Vasanti Unka visited our school to share some of her life stories and her own written books to our students.

Room 5 enjoyed basketball session yesterday which helps build endurance, improve balance and coordination.
