Dear God,
You come to us in Jesus who teaches us that the way to happiness is through our love for one another.
Watch over the teachers, students and families of Sacred Heart Cathedral School as we try to be faithful to this teaching.
Help us to be a welcoming and joyful community, so that others may come to know your love and peace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
Weekly Update from Bernadette Murfitt
Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
I hope the week is going well for you all. I have spent the last three days at Waitangi exploring the rich history of Aotearoa with 20 other Catholic Principals. I have had the absolute pleasure of helping to organise this hikoi as we all implement the Refreshed Curriculum and Aotearoa Histories.
Staff and students have all put a great deal of thought and effort into learning goals for the next few months- these came home last Thursday.
If anything is bothering you at all about your child's learning, please reach out to your child's teacher. We put a lot of thought into providing a really rich curriculum and exciting learning activities. If something isn't quite meeting your expectation we aim to put it right.
Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.
Arohanui,
Bernadette Murfitt

Cultural Day Tomorrow (30th March) with Shared Morning Tea
Thank you to everyone who brought along an item that represents something of their culture for our cultural display in the library walkway.
Shared Morning Tea:
As part of our cultural day on Thursday, 30th March, we would like to invite students to bring in small food items from their culture to share at morning tea. This is an opportunity for our students to share and learn about different cultures and traditions.
We understand that food is an important part of many cultures and we want to celebrate this diversity in our school community. We encourage you to help your child prepare a dish that represents their cultural heritage. This could be a traditional snack, dessert or even a drink. We would like the food to be nut-free and if your child has allergies we will ensure your child only eats the food you send to school or fruit.
In addition to the food, we also welcome students to dress up in a cultural dress to represent their heritage. This could be a traditional outfit or an accessory.
Please ensure that any food items brought to school are clearly labelled with the ingredients. We also ask that the food is easy to eat and does not require heating.
We hope that this cultural day will be a fun and educational experience for our students. It is a great opportunity for them to learn about different cultures, traditions, and cuisines. We appreciate your support in making this event a success.
We were wearing our fancy feet on Friday. We had a lot of fun showcasing our artistic side.
